Gearbox Job Listing Suggests Studio Is Looking For a Writer For Borderlands 3
Fans of the Borderlands franchise are eagerly waiting for Borderlands 3 and developer Gearbox has been quite silent on the matter, however, it seems that Gearbox is looking for a writer for the upcoming Borderlands 3 if the latest job listing is any indication.
According to Gearbox’s listing, the studio is looking for “someone to join the writing team for an unannounced AAA FPS/RPG hybrid with strong characters and central narrative thread.” The listing further suggests that the writer will “write, punch up and iterate scripts in-line with the established story and plot outlines” along with dialogues for characters and missions.
While the listing doesn’t mention Borderlands 3 by name but, the fact that the studio wants the writer to have “love for comedy writing” gives it away that Gearbox is looking to hire a writer for the upcoming Borderlands and we might be seeing a first look on the game in the months to come.
Gearbox has been teasing the game for quite a while and the studio has confirmed that the game’s tone will be much similar to first Borderlands. Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford, posted on his Twitter account while replying to a fan and confirmed that Borderlands 3 will be tonally similar to the first game instead of Borderlands 2. However, he did acknowledge that he loves the second one.
Furthermore, the franchise is also making its way to the silver screen as a movie based on the hit video game series is also in development. Last year it was revealed that Canadian comedian Aaron Berg will serve as the screenwriter for the Borderlands movie.
Borderlands is an open-world first-person shooter set on a planet named Pandora occupied by outlaws. The game series is one of the 2k`s best-selling properties with 26 million units shipped worldwide.
