We recently talked about the Coffee Lake Intel 8700K Advanced Edition being introduced into the market by overlocking enthusiast derbauer and caseking. One lucky enthusiast has managed to get hold of one of these Coffee Lake Intel 8700K Advanced Edition CPUs and according to him, the CPU runs very cool.
According to the user, yingpao, he wanted to be able to have all cores of the Coffee Lake Intel 8700K Advanced Edition running at 4.7 GHz and wanted silence and that is one of the reasons why he went for this very special CPU. The user confirmed that the CPU peaked at 58C while using prime95 small FFTs (max heat) with the NH-D15S cooler and fan running at 800 RPM.
The voltage was set to 1.3 volts. With 2666 MHz 16-18-18-38 RAM the user was able to get all cores to 4.7 GHz and the Cinebench R15 score that he got was 1530 points. You can check out the pictures of the Coffee Lake Intel 8700K Advanced Edition below:
The users confirmed that when using prime95 small FFTs the temperature can go up to 67C but when using other tests and applications like Blender and rendering the temperature stays between 50-55C which is great. It should be noted here that if you use an all-in-one liquid cooler you should be able to get better temps and higher clock speeds as well.
You can check out the details regarding the 8700K Pro Edition and Ultra Edition here. If you are an overclocking enthusiast then this is something that you might want to look into. If you are new to the PC master race then the boost frequencies of the new Coffee Lake CPUs might confuse you, here are the details that you need to know.
