Overwatch Halloween Terror is clearly what we all Overwatch fans have been waiting for this year. Last year Overwatch’s Halloween event was probably the most successful the game had since its release and it is coming back as it was but with a little more trick-or-treating.
The Overwatch Halloween Terror begins tonight, after the update to the game is done bringing back the Junkenstein’s Revenge PvE mode and a bag full of new cool skins. Ana, McCree, Torbjorn, Mei, Zarya, Symmetra and Zenyatta are getting their own new Halloween costumes while Reaper gets a second one since his previous was such a hit. Junkenstein’s Revenge seems to have an all-character select mode (or just a different set of heroes) now since we see Genji, Torbjorn and Widowmaker fighting instead of the previous rotation and if the trailer is to be believed it will feature an endless horde battle.
Don’t forget that if you didn’t get those cool skins that were available last year, they’ll be back again today so you got your chance to get that Witch Mercy skin that everyone had lost their minds about or that spooky pumpkin head Reaper which was the love of all DPS players in the game. Thanks, Blizzard!
Apart from the Halloween themed decorated Hollywood map, Blizzard has teased some changes to the Eichenwalde map. Now Eichenwalde is set in a nighttime mode with the castle at its end covered in Junkenstein’s machine, lightning generators. As we remember from last year the Junkenstein PvE mode was set in the area before the castle’s gate so the changes made now must mean something.
Inside the castle, we can find a surgery bed with the Junkenstein’s Monster themed Roadhog covered in a sheet instead of that massive throne with Reinhardt’s Balderich skin. Is this some kind of a story developing or is it random decorations just to fit the event?
Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017 runs from Oct. 10 through Nov. 1 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
