Holiday Game Releases Are Dominated By Call of Duty, Pokemon

The holiday game releases are apparently going to be dominated by two different, highly popular franchises: Pokemon, and Call of Duty. With Call of Duty: WW2 and the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon versions of Pokemon= both coming out around the holidays, the competition will likely be fierce around then.

While the two games couldn’t be more different from one another, with Call of Duty being the ultraviolent shooter of choice for many a gamer while Pokemon is a more relaxed and leisurely RPG-like game where you train Pokemon and explore the region of choice, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be immensely successful.

They’re two of the franchises that most people think of when they think of certain systems, and with Call of Duty: WW2 being the next game after the much-criticized Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and finally returning to the Call of Duty franchise’s World War 2 roots, there’s likely to be a whole bunch of sales from people that have gotten tired of the series going farther and farther into the future.

The other one of the major holiday game releases, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, is also likely going to be doing very well over the holiday season. Players will be able to explore the Alola region all over again, with hopefully new Pokemon, new Ultra Beasts, and a new story to play through as they take their character through their island trial once again.

In addition to the differing subject matters in the holiday game releases, players must also take into account what systems they’re on. While Call of Duty: WW2 will be available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, Pokemon will likely only be available on the Nintendo 3DS and other handheld consoles.

Call of Duty: WW2 will be coming out on November 3, while Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be releasing on November 17.
