Blizzard is hiring interns for an unannounced Overwatch project

Blizzard appears to be working on something new that is somehow related with Overwatch.

The official careers website was recently updated to include an internship opening for a “Generalist Artist” that will help in “an unannounced project” at the company. The candidate is required to be familiar with the lore and universe of Overwatch to help bring the game to life.

“You will work closely with our concept, environment and character teams to create hard surface and organic props, weapons and possibly characters that are both detail-oriented and consistent with the art style we’ve defined,” the listing reads.

The position is strictly for students and will last for just a few months at the Blizzard office in Irvine, California next year.

Interestingly, Blizzard has since then removed all mentions for Overwatch from the listing. It is unsure if this is an expansion pack, a single-player campaign, or a spin-off for mobile devices.

Blizzard has not confirmed any new games but it did start hiring for an unannounced shooter in June. The developer is seeking lead software engineers experienced in action-oriented games that will work on “a robust first-person engine.”

Elsewhere, we are drawing near to BlizzCon 2017. It is an annual convention where Blizzard talks about its flagship titles and upcoming content. Perhaps we will get to hear something new regarding the mysterious projects then.
