According to a recent announcement by Ubisoft, players will be able to adjust the Assassin’s Creed Origins difficulty, meaning that if you’re playing the game for the combat or the story you can adjust the difficulty to reflect that. This is the first Assassin’s Creed game where players could adjust the difficulty.
Assassin’s Creed game is taking place in a completely new time period unlike any other Assassin’s Creed game before, taking place during the last days of the Ptolemaic Kings of Egypt. That, along with the huge map to explore, the new combat style that’s put an end to the “counter-cheesing” of previous Assassin’s Creed games, and the brand new story telling how the Assassin Brotherhood was originally founded, will likely please players in a number of ways.
Along with the ability to adjust the Assassin’s Creed Origins difficulty, players will soon be getting a version of the game called the Discovery Tour, which will allow you to explore and learn about this period of Egypt without having to worry about the game’s story or fighting bandits. Instead you can learn about Ptolemaic Egypt and its culture, its people, and more.
While you do have the option to adjust the Assassin’s Creed Origins difficulty, that doesn’t mean that you won’t have to do anything in the game except travel from place to place and experience the story. You’ll still have to fight bandits, enemies, and bosses no matter where you set the slider. However, you will have an easier time in combat (and the opposite is true for Hard difficulty).
Assassin’s Creed Origins will be coming out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 27 of this year. The Discovery Tour DLC, which will be releasing for free, will be coming out a few months after the game releases, sometime in 2018.
