Asus ROG Maximus X Hero Motherboard is Good Enough For Overclocking Along With Other Features
Asus recently revealed their newest addition to the Z370 line up. The Asus ROG Maximus X Hero motherboard. This is for the latest Intel 8th generation Coffee Lake desktop processors based on LGA 1151 socket.
The Asus ROG Maximus series is one of those motherboards that brings you the best of both worlds. It looks classy, has that ROG vibe with all that edgy design, protected ports, shielded components and smart balance of features and costs involved.
It offers the extra M.2 SSD the ease of Wi-Fi as well. The price has also not been revealed yet, but its expected to be under $250. At that price point, it is a good balance between price and features, so good value for money.
Maximus X Hero offers good overclocking features, tons of temperature sensors and fan control ports all over the motherboard. To make it safe, they use industry grade quality components that ensure robust performance even under stressed loads.
There was a benchmark of apps, games and overclocking tests, over Core i7-8700K @ 5 GHz. The results were really good with consistent performance, no crashes what so ever. Because when you’re hardware is getting a properly regulated voltage, with sufficient cooling, the result is a top-notch performance benchmark.
The same reviewer claimed that the overclocked temperatures were 81 Celsius because of the 2 out 4 broken joints of the corsair LCS cooler used. It still managed to provide 5100 MHz on 1.350 volts and 3866 MHz OC’ed RAM.
Whenever it’s about overclocking my personal experience has been to get a good quality aftermarket CPU cooler, a good quality certified 80+ power supply unit and finally a motherboard with top-notch components that can manage and regulate all the stressful operations easily.
Asus ROG Maximus X Hero does the job of managing voltages, heat and performance really well and it does so in style.
