Gears Of War 4 Getting HDR And 4K Support For Xbox One X This Month

While you are waiting for Xbox One X to be released in November, Gears of War 4 is getting ready too. According to the developers, Gears of War 4 will be getting all the Xbox One X enhancements required for the game to be ready to be played on Microsoft’s upcoming console.

This update will go out alongside the October map drop which will be the last as The Coalition announced:

“As we prepare for the Xbox One X Enhancements coming this November (more on that in a second), the release of the October Map Drop will coincide with our Xbox One X Ready Update in late October”

The studio also has a description for the release of the Xbox One X that reads:

If you’re picking up an Xbox One X on launch day (which you really should), you’ll be able to experience Gears of War 4 enhanced for your sweet new console day and date on November 7th. Prepare for the full 4K experience including HDR and a bunch of new tech features that make the game more immersive – and stunning – than it’s ever been.”

This update will be adding full HDR support to Gears of War 4 to give players that extra realistic feel and crisp graphics. Also, we are going to see a native 4K resolution, which seemed a little unnecessary since the game already looks perfect visually, but in the shade of Xbox One X’s release, it was a much needed upscale to the game’s resolution.

Gears of War, which apparently did pretty good in sales this year, has a huge update schedule for next year as well which will include:

  • New monthly Gear Packs containing characters and weapon skins to add to your collection.
  • Monthly Versus and Horde events with exclusive challenge-based rewards
  • New achievements
  • Major Seasonal events like ‘11 Years of Gears,’ ‘Gearsmas’ and ‘Thanksgibbing!’
  • Ranked Seasons with skill placement rewards
  • Gears of War Esports Season 2
  • Continual balancing improvements to Versus and Horde as needed

As for the Xbox One X, it will be in stores on November 7th, making a huge visual upgrade to the Xbox One while baring a more powerful hardware system.
