Atom makes his way to Injustice 2 at the subatomic level

NetherRealm Studios has announced the Atom as the newest upcoming character from the DC Universe for the diverse Injustice 2 roster.

Those unfamiliar with the literary material will be thrilled to know that he has the ability to manipulate the size of his body. He can grow to be a giant to smash the living daylights out of his opponents or shrink down to the basic subatomic levels in order to traverse through matter.

Take note that the Atom making its way to Injustice 2 looks to not be based on the original Raymond “Ray” Palmer version but on Ryan Choi, a student of Physics in Hong Kong that was in contact with Ray in the past and later came across a copy of his shrinking costume to become the current Atom.

More details are pegged to arrive in the coming days but for now, the newest addition to the Injustice 2 roster looks extremely promising. Majority of his list of attack moves have him changing size. The Atom can shrink during a fray to dodge blows and come from behind his opponent or grow in size for special moves that deal massive damage. Sticking to the Injustice 2 theme, he also comes armed with several puns.

Elsewhere, Raiden is now available in the game to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mortal Kombat franchise. Only owners of the more expensive editions currently have access. The rest will get their turn on October 6. Raiden is the first post-release downloadable character to arrive with a premier skin, which turns him into Black Lightning.
