Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled to launch later this month and a report has made its way on the internet suggesting that Polyphony Digital will be holding Gran Turismo Sport open beta before that. The report also suggests when the beta will take place.
A listing on UK retailer, Tesco, has leaked details about the allegedly upcoming Gran Turismo Sport open beta. According to the listing, the open beta will start on October 9 and will continue till October 12. The open beta will be available to all PS4 users regardless of PS+ membership.
According to the listing, Gran Turismo Sport open beta will feature 3 Tracks Sport Mode, Campaign Mode, Missions – Stage 1 and 6, Circuit Experience with 3 tracks and more. Also, players will be able to transfer their progress to the full game.
However, it is important to note that given that the devs have not officially announced it, take it as a grain of salt.
Developer Polyphony Digital has also announced the PSVR support for Gran Turismo Sport, however, the game will not be fully playable in VR.
Polyphony Digital President Kazanori Yamauchi has confirmed that the upcoming Gran Turismo will not be fully playable in VR and will have VR Tour game mode instead. This means that players will probably not be able to race with the VR headset plugged in.
Also, the studio has confirmed that Gran Turismo Sport will not feature micro-transactions. While it is a good thing but, it also makes sense that microtransactions will be absent in Gran Turismo Sport since the game’s 85% content is single player focused.
Furthermore, the studio also claims that Gran Turismo was developed with a theoretical PS5 in mind. “It takes six months to create a single car. It’s over-specced for PS4 Pro. So we are building for future versions of the console rather than the one we see today”
Gran Turismo Sport is an upcoming racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital and will launch on October 17, 2017, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
