God Of War is one of the most anticipated PS4 games, however, fans of the series weren’t particularly happy with Sony Santa Monica replacing the original God Of War voice actor in the upcoming game and now the studio has revealed the reason behind replacing the voice actor.
According to the report from Hollywood Reporter, the original God Of War voice actor, Terrence C. Carson, for Kratos in previous God Of War titles was replaced because of his height. While talking to the studio, the subject of how Christopher Judge came to be the voice of Kratos in the upcoming God Of War came up.
According to game director Cory Barlog, “Doing what we wanted to do with a camera that was never going to cut away, we had a lot of scenes that required two characters to interact physically on the stage. The size difference between Kratos and Terrence is very great. Offsetting that for the size of a child, it turned out it was going to be almost impossible to try and actually shoot them and go in and redo the animations”.
Also, Sony has revealed that the upcoming God Of War will be the most brutal God of War ever. According to Vice President of Marketing, Asad Qizilbasz, the combat is very different from previous iterations and it is no longer one versus many.
Sony Santa Monica has also revealed that players will have to make choices which will also require players to steer Kratos in terms of guiding his son as this is necessary to develop each of the characters.
It’s kind of like, you know, it’s sort of, again, like parenting. This idea of making choices for yourself and making choices for your kid, how you’re going to sort of load balance.
God Of War is an upcoming action-adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica Studio and will launch sometime in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
