The Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment (CTE) was updated earlier today to reveal several upcoming changes and improvements for a refined experience.
According to the official patch notes posted on Reddit, a previously reported bug where throwing a smoke grenade would prevent the player from performing other actions has been squashed. In addition, another issue where heads of enemy opponents would become invisible at certain distances has been fixed.
Furthermore, missing audio for automatic weapons in single-fire mode has been addressed. The damage for Tripwire – HE has been increased to ensure an assist at the very least from the resulting blast. The Ottoman Standard Issue Rifle has been changed from the Martini Henry to the G98 for historical accuracy. Most importantly, a rare instance where enemy footsteps could be heard very loudly when the player was inside a vehicle has been corrected.
It is satisfying to know that the developer has finally closed off an exploit where players would initiate a “request order” at the end of a round in order to become squad leader in the next.
Interestingly, the update mentions the ability to entirely disable motion blur for performance gains. Apparently, there still some amount of blur in the system even if the slider was at zero. However, early players have stated that they experienced insignificant gains with the new toggle. Perhaps this has to do with how aged your rig is.
The developer wants to remind that everything is a work in progress and last-minute adjustments may be made for Battlefield 1 based on feedback.
