Gigabyte recently said that the company would not be working on any Gigabyte RX Vega 64 graphics cards and that there would only be custom versions of the AMD RX Vega 56 but the company has changed its mind after getting a supply of Vega chips. Here we have some details regarding the Gigabyte RX Vega 64.
The graphics card has a dual fan design and it seems to be a new version of the Windforce 2X cooler. That has yet to be confirmed. The cooler is also longer than the board and the graphics card seems to feature a custom PCB.
The Gigabyte RX Vega 64 graphics card features 3x HDMI + 3x DisplayPort, this should be great for VR enthusiasts but there is no DVI port so you will have to make do without one. The size of the card and the clock speeds have yet to be disclosed but we do know that a 750W power supply is suggested.
While we have seen the Asus version in action, there are reviewers that have claimed that it is just a PR stunt and it turns out that the reference design version actually performs better as compared to the custom Asus model in terms of overclocking and stability.
It will be interesting to see how well the Gigabyte RX Vega 64 will perform as compared to the reference design and whether or not it will have some significant advantages over the reference design version. So stay tuned for more information regarding all that. Check out more information here.
In latest news, we have seen that the AMD Vega GPUS beat the high-end Nvidia GPUs when it comes to Forza 7. You can check out the benchmarks here.
