God Of War Midgard Serpent Pushes The Game’s Tech To Its Limits Due To Its Huge Size

God Of War is one of the most anticipated PlayStation exclusives and Sony Santa Monica is pushing the console to its limits with the game’s physical based rendering. Now the devs have revealed that the Midgard Serpent which was featured in the E3 2017 trailer, pushes the technology to its limits due to its sheer size.

Speaking in the latest podcast, God Of War principal character artist Rafael Grassetti talked about God Of War and how Midgard Serpent is pushing the game’s tech to its limits on PS4’s hardware. He further added that players will interact with the Serpent in “a lot of different ways”.

According to Grassetti, making the Serpent talk was also a big challenge for the development team and they took the inspiration for the character from The Hydra which was featured in one of the previous titles in the franchise but, the team also wanted to do something different.

Also,  Sony has revealed that the upcoming God Of War will be the most brutal God of War ever. According to Vice President of Marketing, Asad Qizilbasz, the combat is very different from previous iterations and it is no longer one versus many.

Now it is one versus one or two. Furthermore, Qizilbash expressed that the upcoming title will be “the most brutal God of War ever.”

Also, Sony Santa Monica has revealed that players will have to make choices which will also require players to steer Kratos in terms of guiding his son as this is necessary to develop each of the characters.

Also, the studio has confirmed that the game’s combat will not feature QTEs and also compared the game to FIFA.

God Of War is an upcoming action-adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica Studio and will launch sometime in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
