Cuphead Parrying Tips
Parrying is not that difficult to learn, but it is very difficult to understand how to utilize it in situations. To perform a Parry, simply jump in the air and then press jump a second time. There is a very small window in which you can parry attacks so you need to perfect the timing.
If you fail, you will just jump into an enemy that is the worst thing you can do. So remember to make sure that you have the timing down before you attempt it in an important part of a level.
It might be more difficult for you to parry attacks that occur to the top or left of you. Therefore, it is better if you try to focus on parrying attacks to the bottom and right. The best way to do this is by positioning your character to the left of the enemy that you are trying to parry.
It might be more difficult for you to parry attacks that occur to the top or left of you.
Parrying while running towards an object to the right is easier to pull off than parrying an object that is moving off the screen to the left similarly parrying down is significantly easier to manage than parrying an object that is above you.
The best way is by positioning your character to the left of the enemy that you are trying to parry.
Even when dealing with bosses there are a lot of things, projectiles and body parts of the boss that you can parry.
Just be on the lookout of anything pink, either colored or glowing pinkish, those projectiles, characters or body-parts are the ones you can parry
There are two advantages of parrying an enemy. One is that you will have destroyed your target and not taken any damage. The second is that your character will gain a full card in your EX gauge which is visible at the bottom of your screen.
This will allow you to immediately perform an EX attack or build the gauge further for a Super Art. You should also remember that if you want to earn a perfect grade on any level, you would have to perform at least three parries through the stage.
