A new Evil Within 2 trailer has introduced another new antagonist in the world of Union, the mental world that Sebastian Castellanos will enter in order to find his daughter Lily. This antagonist is Father Theodore, a mad priest who wishes to cleanse the world of sin, and wants to use Lily to do it.
His motivation, according to the new Evil Within 2 trailer, is because Union is “unformed” and still being built, and Theodore and his horde of followers (many of whom he has apparently driven mad himself) wish to raise him to the point of him becoming a “new god.” This means that we’ll likely have him as our main antagonist during the game. He might have even been the one who kidnapped Lily to begin with, after Sebastian believed her to be dead for five years.
Considering how Ruvik, the antagonist of the original Evil Within game, had reality-warping powers in the world of the STEM, one has to wonder if Theodore, who wants to be the god of the mental world of Union, will have similar powers, or if he’ll do something different. Either way, Bethesda will have a long ways to go if they want to erase the stigma of the original Evil Within.
The first game, which came out in 2014, was one of the many high-profile titles that were part of the great glitching, with numerous Triple-A games such as The Evil Within and Assassin’s Creed: Unity shipping with a wide variety of glitches, bugs, and crashes that should never have made shipping.
Either way, hopefully the new Evil Within 2 trailer will get people excited about the sequel and be much better than the first game. The Evil Within 2 will be releasing on October 13 of this year, on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. You can see the new Evil Within 2 trailer by looking further up the article.
