Shadow Of War DLC To Honour The Late Dev Is Now Free For All

Shadow of War publisher Warner Bros faced quite a backlash for its Shadow Of War Forthog Orc-Slayer DLC and now the DLC is no longer a paid DLC and is now available for free. Originally the Shadow Of War DLC was available for $4.99 of which $3.50 were to go to the family of Michael Forgey.

According to Warner Bros, this Shadow Of War Forthog Orc-Slayer DLC has been made available for free due to legal complications and the confusion surrounding the DLC. Warner Bros said in a statement that the company will make the donation directly to the family and the DLC has been withdrawn from sale and those who have already purchased it will get a refund.

We now recognize that tying our donation to sales of the DLC was not the best way to achieve our goal of offering financial support to the family and creating a lasting memorial to Michael Forgey. We sincerely apologize to the fans and to the Forgey family for the confusion we created.

To ensure the two original aims are still met and to provide transparency to the community, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will instead make a donation directly to the Forgey family. The DLC will be withdrawn from sale and will be a free download for owners of Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Anyone who has purchased the DLC will receive a full refund.

Also, there is a report making rounds on the internet that suggests Shadow Of War DLC Orcs are one-time use only.

Meaning if players decide to start a new game, the DLC Orcs will not be available to them again.

Shadow Of War is an open-world action adventure game in development at Monolith Productions and is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
