Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One X is the best experience of the game that you can get on a console. The developers behind the game have been keeping the game up to date with the latest hardware that comes to market. Even though the Xbox One X is not out yet the Gamescom demo had plenty to offer.
The Rise of the Tomb Raider Gamescom Xbox One X demo featured 10 minutes of gameplay and you could play the game at 4K with HDR on. The game was running in different modes that supported Enriched 4K and High Frame-Rate. Keeping in mind how demanding the game is, the Native 4K mode of the game was very impressive keeping in mind that this is a console that we are talking about.
The game on the Xbox One X is a bit laid back as compared to the PC version but the game holds its own on the Xbox One X. The extra memory on the Xbox One X allows the game to run with higher resolution textures which look great on the big screen. In the native 4K mode, the game was stable at 30 FPS most of the time but there were occasional dips here and there.
The performance of the game is much better when running in 4K Enriched mode. The High Frame Rate mode allows the game to run at 1080p and even though the experience seems to be on par with the PS4 Pro, the game is actually running faster on the Xbox One X due to the improved hardware that the console features.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is a pretty dated title now but it is great to see the support that developers have put in. Let us know what you think about Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox One X.
