Geralt’s VA Doesn’t Know About The Witcher 4, Might Be In Cyberpunk

Even though The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt served as the conclusive end to the story of Geralt of Rivia, a lot of people are hankering for The Witcher 4. However, Geralt’s voice actor, Doug Cockle, isn’t really sure that something like that is ever going to happen. Cyberpunk, however? That’s a possibility.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ended with all of the game’s plot threads tied up nicely. Geralt had defeated the Wild Hunt and saved his daughter Ciri, had regained his memory, and saved the world. The Nilfgaardian Empire would either succeed in conquering the North, or be driven back for the time being. Ciri would either become a Witcher like Geralt, or become Empress of Nilfgaard, depending on your choices.

The Witcher 3’s DLCs, specifically its last one Blood and Stone, even ended with Geralt being given an estate to stay in in Toussaint and finally apparently retire from the Witcher life. So, while Geralt may be through with adventuring, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t make a cameo in other games even if they’re not The Witcher 4.

Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED’s upcoming science fiction RPG title, may be the perfect place for someone like Geralt to go into. The setting, filled with genetic manipulation, cybernetic enhancement, and more, might at least offer a place for a Witcher to cameo. After all, who might not want a genetically enhanced bounty hunter in a setting like this?

Unfortunately, Cockle says that while they did approach him with an offer to be in Cyberpunk, it was apparently just a joke conversation and they haven’t contacted him since.

So, when Cyberpunk 2077 does finally come out, you might have to keep your eye out for the telltale gravelly tones of a certain witcher if it turns out that Cockle and Geralt will get a cameo in the game. There’s no release date for Cyberpunk 2077 yet, but CD Projekt RED is extremely focused on it. They’ve also said that Wild Hunt completed Geralt’s story, so there likely won’t be The Witcher 4.
