PUBGs is one of the most successful early access titles and is still going strong with the studio adding new content and constantly rolling out updates and now Bluehole has revealed that PUBGs Ranked Game Mode will be coming in the future.
During the recent Reddit AMA, Brendan Greene confirmed that that the development team is planning a PUBGs Ranked Game Mode along with other progression systems for maximum player engagement like leveling system for the players and weapons skill system and also added that these progression systems will not affect the gameplay.
Greene also revealed that the studio is planning some changes to the Blue Zone to make it fairer and also confirmed that more game optimizations will be implemented soon for the low-end systems.
We implemented a new shadow system that costs very little in terms of performance which is why it is now forced. The main issue is that our game is still somewhat CPU limited, and this effects higher spec systems more than low spec ones. We still have much work to do when it comes to optimisation, but as I said, we are committed to this task, even if it takes us some time to complete. And regarding PP, please remember that nothing we add is final, and we are using the Early Access period to test and get feedback on anything we add to the game.
Also, Bluhole Studio is preparing to deal with the PUBGs AFK farming and plan to tackle it soon, however, the studio admits they don’t know what will be the solution.
It could be us just adjusting the balance of BPs being earnt after each game or just from a structure point of view, preventing AFKs as a whole. We haven’t fully decided on a direction for that yet.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a multiplayer survival game currently in early access for PC and will launch for consoles later.
