You might have heard by now that the Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor mobile game has been confirmed, and will be coming out on iOS and Android phones. However, now the Shadow of War mobile version release date has also been revealed, and will be coming out on September 28, next Thursday.
The Middle-earth: Shadow of War mobile version will be a bit different from the game that you’ll be playing on the PC and consoles. Instead of using armies of orcs to conquer fortresses from Sauron’s orcs, players will instead be forming a team of champions, ranging from game characters such as Talion, Lithariel, Shelob, and your various orc captains, to the famous characters from the actual Lord of the Rings trilogy like Aragorn, Gimli, and Boromir.
However, despite its lack of similarities to the actual game, the Shadow of War mobile game will still have the Nemesis system, meaning that you’ll be able to brand various orc captains to your will or kill orcs that are loyal to Sauron. These captains will also remember your various successes and failures, just like they did in the previous game.
From what we can see in the trailers, the Shadow of War mobile version will essentially be a dungeon crawler where players and their champion team fight their way through various fortresses and dungeons in order to take down the various orcs that serve Sauron.
If you’re really impatient to play Shadow of War and don’t think you can wait, the mobile version of the game will at least allow you to play something like it before the game comes out. Once again, the Shadow of War mobile version will be releasing next Thursday on September 28, while Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be releasing on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 10.
