The Witcher 3 is the latest entry in the Witcher franchise and CD Projekt has moved on to develop Cyberpunk 2077 and the studio has no plans for The Witcher 4. Now Geralt’s voice actor has revealed that he might be involved with Cyberpunk 2077 and has no idea about The Witcher 4.
Doug Cockle, the voice behind Geralt, said during a panel at EGX 2017 said that he is not aware of any Witcher title in development also talked about his involvement with CD Projekt Red’s upcoming projects which also includes the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.
What I have discussed is the idea of me being involved somehow. Whether that’s a major part or just an easter egg. I hope so, I really enjoy working with them. But I haven’t had significant contact. We have jokingly talked about it.
He also talked about his experience during his work on The Witcher franchise as Geralt’s voice. “It’s really cool to be part of something that’s that long. Something where you get to go back to the character over time, as the writers give him more of a life, more emotional situations. It’s been a great experience.”
Not much is known about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 but, a rumor has been making rounds on the internet that the game will be 4 times bigger than The Witcher 3 and its DLCs combined. The rumor also suggests that the game will also use The Witcher 3’s seasonal system for generating massive scales and will also feature dynamic destructible areas.
While Cyberpunk 2077 will not launch this year but the next game to be released by CD Projekt Red is GWENT The Witcher Card Game. GWENT has been very popular among the community but, the developers did not anticipate that this mini-game would be so popular among the players.
