The Intel Core i9 7980XE is the top of the line CPU that will feature 18 cores. While this is not something ideal for gaming you can imagine the performance that this chip will be able to give you in non-gaming applications. Here we have some Intel Core i9 7980XE benchmarks.
The Intel Core i9 7980XE is based on high core count Xeon dies and will be revealed on 25th of September. In the upcoming few days, we will be able to check out the Intel Core i9 7980XE along with the 14 core i9 7940X and 16 core i9 7960X.
It is not unusual for someone to get their hands on performance numbers beforehand and that is how these Intel Core i9 7980XE benchmarks have made their way to the internet ahead of time. Intel Core i9 7980XE benchmarks reveal that the CPU destroys the competition, even the top of the line Ryzen Threadripper 1950X is left behind.
When it comes to wPrime the Intel i9 7980XE has the lead by at least 30% as compared to other CPUs that have been tested. CPU-Z told us a similar story, while the single threaded performance was similar to the Core i9 7900X, when it came to the multi-threaded test the Intel Core i9 7980XE performed 20% better as compared to the Threadripper 1950X.
Cinebench also tells us the same story, while the single threaded performance of the Intel Core i9 7980XE is on par with other X series chips, the Intel i9 7980XE has more than 30% better performance in multi-threaded tests as compared to the Threadriper 1950X. You can check out the Intel Core i9 7980XE benchmarks below:
3DMARK Fire Strike also gave us the same result with the Intel i9 7980XE scoring 32,000 points and taking the lead over the AMD Flagship by 17%. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was testing using the Titan Xp and the Intel i9 7980XE performed 30% better on average as compared to the Ryzen 7 1800X and the Core i7 7700K. These numbers are for 1440p resolution.
The Intel Core i9 7980XE benchmarks reveal that the chip has a lot of power to offer and there is nothing like it. You do need to take these numbers with a grain of salt though as these are leaks. The NDA will be lifted on the 25th and we will be able to get other benchmarking results in order to verify these numbers.
Let us know what you think about the Intel i9 7980XE and whether or not you are interested in buying one of these CPUs.
