Say hello to the Mercury Cougar 1967, one of the many new Need For Speed car types that will be featured in Need For Speed Payback, the upcoming new racing game that is being developed by Ghost Games. The Mercury Cougar is only the most recent of the many cars we’ll using.
Need For Speed Payback takes place in the fictional Fortune Valley, which is dominated by a criminal syndicate known as the House. Players will take the role of three different characters in the city as they come together to bring down the House and free the city from their corrupt influence.
One of the major mechanics that are going to be in Need For Speed Payback is how you procure a number of your various cars. Rather than buying them like you would in previous Need For Speed games, players instead will be getting new cars from wrecks in the desert, fixing them up to restore them to their former glory.
The new Need For Speed car in this instance is a muscle car specifically being made for off-road racing, meaning that you don’t have to stick to the roads if you’re running from the police or any of the other villains that you’ll be facing in the game.
Part of the Need For Speed series is the large amount of different cars that you can get together over the course of the game, and Payback is no exception. The Mercury Cougar 1967 is only the most recent new Need For Speed car that will be available in the game. Since the game doesn’t come out until November 10, there’s still a good amount of time to reveal other cars.
Need For Speed Payback will be coming out on November 10 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, so be on the lookout for more new cars until then.
