Custom RX Vega Cards Will Not Be Available Before Mid October, AIB Partners Have No Idea When They Will Get GPUs

Since AMD RX Vega GPUs were launched a month ago, people have been waiting for custom RX Vega cards in order to see what kind of a difference custom coolers and out of the box overclocks will be able to offer. Unfortunately, we have only seen custom RX Vega cards from Asus.

So when will you be able to get custom RX Vega cards? It seems that even AIB partners do not know when they will get AMD Vega GPUs. According to reports, custom RX Vega cards will not be available until mid-October. None of the AIB parters except for Asus have custom RX Vega cards announcements and that is due to the lack of GPUs that they have got from AMD.

All that AIB partners have been doing till now is slapping on their own sticker and repackaging the cards. If you were waiting for custom RX Vega cards then it seems that you will have to wait longer. The Asus Strix RX Vega 64 OC Edition is a triple fan design card that takes up 2.5 slots. According to Asus:

We rise to the cooling challenge with a combination of brains and brawn that provides excellent performance when you need it and silence when you don’t. It all starts with MaxContact, an industry-leading heat spreader machined to tighter tolerances than conventional counterparts.

Here are some benchmarks of the Asus Strix Vega 64 that will give you an idea of what you can expect to see from upcoming custom RX Vega cards. This version is from Asus and other AIB partners may be able to provide better improvements and hence better performance.

Let us know whether or not you have been waiting for custom Vega cards and whether you are going to wait longer or go for a Pascal GPU instead.
