Shadow Of War is less than a month away from launch and rumor has popped on the internet suggesting that Shadow Of War DLC Orcs will be single-use only. The upcoming Shadow Of War has already faced quite a backlash for featuring micro-transactions and it seems that the studio might face more.
The report comes from a Steam user who suggests that during a recent Q&A session in a live stream which revealed that Shadow Of War DLC Orcs are one-time use only. Meaning if players decide to start a new game, the DLC Orcs will not be available to them again.
However, take it as a grain of salt as Monolith Productions is yet to officially confirm it or we will have to wait till the game launches. But, if it is true then it will be quite frustrating and the studio might be facing a PR Nightmare.
In related news, the studio has revealed that players will not be able to replay failed missions in the upcoming sequel. If the player dies during the castle siege the time will move forward, player’s allies will be captured and the enemies will grow in strength.
Also, the studio has explained why Shelob takes a central role in the upcoming game and why is she a woman. According to creative vice president Michael de Plater, the team did this because it fits her evil characteristics.
So she’s evil, or perceived as evil, but she has this honesty to her, and so as we started thinking through that and thinking of her as this dark mirror to Galadriel and filling that role in our story of that narrator and what that would look like.
Shadow Of War is an open-world action adventure game in development at Monolith Productions and is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
