See DOOM On Nintendo Switch Compared To Its PS4 Version

DOOM is finally arriving on Nintendo Switch this year’s holidays and it’s a breath of fresh air for the FPS genre for the console. Given the fact that Nintendo Switch is more of a handheld than a couch console it’s hard not to think that the game will lose much of its beauty when it finally releases.

The youtuber Cycu1 released a video showing a side to side comparison on the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM and Playstation 4. The footage taken for the Nintendo Switch one is from the latest Nintendo Direct where an 1080p trailer of the game was shown so we can say that it’s pretty accurate.

As it seems the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM loses a lot of its smoothness compared to the Playstation 4 and has more dim colors than before. Although it seems that the differences are big, it doesn’t mean that the console will not handle the game just perfect. The fact that you can play DOOM on a handheld console would require even greater changes than the ones we see on the video so we are safe to say that Nintendo Switch will handle its new title just fine.

On other news the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM will be a different port than the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions. It will contain the full campaign as well as the post-release updates and DLC but if you buy the retail version of it you will have to download the multiplayer part of it seperately.

Also the SnapMap level editor will not be available which makes the game more of a single player experience than focusing on its multiplayer section.

Nintendo Switch will get 2 more huge releases before Christmas, Rocket League and Elder Scrolls Skyrim, making the console a little more competitive on the holiday market.

Bethesda also announced that Wolfenstein 2 will also get a Nintendo Switch next year after the official release of the game on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
