This year assassins travel to ancient Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins and it’s pretty accurate to say that this one will be a little more exciting to explore than the previous ones. A new Assassin’s Creed Origins Trailer was just today revealed showing the “Order of the Ancients”, a group of power hungry men spreading chaos in the cities of Egypt by any means necessary.
As seen in Assassin’s Creed Origins Trailer, the Order is manned by masked figures who are seeking for power through the ancient Egypt gods. Those men are actively controling Cleopatra’s brother Ptolemy who is the Pharaoh in the era that the game is stated in and are getting whatever it is they need from the shadows.
The trailer has a serious political tone in its narration stating that the people must stand up to the Order of the Ancients saying in quote “If you do not act this country will burn to the ground”. The female voice speaking in the trailer is confronting a Medjay (members of an ancient Egyptian military who acted as desert scouts and protectors of areas of pharaonic interest), probably the main character of Assassin’s Creed Origins, asking him what will he do about it.
Needless to say that the political instability and murderous intentions created by the Order will be a main feature of the new title since they seem to be the main antagonists. This won’t be your only goal though since Cleopatra and the Romans are also involved in its story.
As the official description for the Order of Ancients on Ubisoft’s official website reads:
It’s been said that there’s nothing wrong with ambition. When you’re talking about the combined forces of the most powerful people in Egypt, though, things get a little cloudy. And when those people also happen to be unimaginably evil, you’ve got the Order of the Ancients.
These high power political and social figures are willing to do anything to gain control – and as much money as possible. That includes oppressing the lower classes and killing anyone who gets in their way. And since they’re able to influence other major powers in this ancient world—including the Pharaoh, Rome and Greece—there’s nothing the Order can’t do.
We can also see some “Order of the Ancients” figures in the other most recent trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins, which is asking you to remember who they are because they are everywhere.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is an upcoming action RPG in development at Ubisoft and is scheduled to launch on October 27, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
