The God of War Upgrade System Will Have Norse Mythology’s Dwarves To Help
You won’t be going by the old God of War upgrade system when it comes to your weapons this time around. According to Sony Santa Monica, the game’s upgrade system in the new setting will involve Brokk and Eitri, who will help to level up our heroes’ skills and weapons.
Brokk and Eitri are two minor but still fairly important characters in Norse Mythology, as they are the two dwarves who forged one of the most famous weapons in the saga, Mjolnir, the hammer of the thunder god Thor. The brothers also made two other artifacts from Norse mythology, the golden bracelet Draupnir and Gullinbursti, a golden-bristled boar, but whether these will appear in the game or not remains to be seen.
One of the two brothers has already made an appearance in the E3 2017 trailer for God of War, but he wasn’t identified. Either way, considering how many weapons Kratos got in previous God of War games, the God of War upgrade system we’ll be getting this time around may have even cooler stuff to work with than just Kratos’s axe.
After all, we’ve already seen at least one other weapon that Kratos is going to be using in the form of a shield, so there’s no excuse that he won’t be getting other things as well.
Brokk and Eitri will be on-hand to help diversify the combat skills of Kratos and Atreus, so you’ll likely be able to tailor the pair’s combat style to how you like to play. Considering the wide variety of enemies you’ll likely be facing, and with no quick-time events to help you out of tight spots, you’ll need all the help you can get.
God of War will be coming to the Playstation 4 sometime in 2018, and in the meantime you should look out for new information regarding its mechanics.
