A new banner ad might have just spoiled the existence of Dragon’s Crown Pro, a remastered edition of the RPG beat-em-up Dragon’s Crown that came out in 2013 for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita. We don’t know much about it, but hopefully it’s actually true and we’ll be getting it soon.
Dragon’s Crown tells the story of a fantasy kingdom that is threatened by a massive and powerful dragon. Taking control of one of multiple different heroes, a Fighter, an Elf, a Sorceress, a Wizard, a Dwarf, and an Amazon, players must gather a series of magic gems to place into the titular Dragon’s Crown, while fighting their way through orcs, undead, monsters, and more.
The game got a good bit of controversy when it was first announced due to the overt sexualization of characters like the Amazon and the Sorceress, but was a fairly solid and beautifully illustrated beat-em-up that still apparently won enough fans to get a remastered version, if the announcement about Dragon’s Crown Pro is true.
There’s no indication on the official Atlus website that anything related to Dragon’s Crown is being made, however that might still mean that the game is going to be announced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show later this month and the studio was attempting to keep it under wraps.
Either way, hopefully the banner ad isn’t fake and we actually will be getting a Dragon’s Crown Pro sometime in the future. Considering how good the game looks on its original release, it would be a shame if it wasn’t really given a chance to shine on a console like the Playstation 4 Pro.
We’ll just have to wait for the Tokyo Game Show to see if it actually gets announced. The Tokyo Game Show will begin on September 21, and run until September 24.
