Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is over a month away from launch and the game’s antagonist will be a returning character from 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order. Now, Machine Games has revealed that talent behind the game’s antagonist “Frau Engel”.
Nina Franoszek is the one playing Frau Engel in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. While she was reluctant at first to not take the role because of the lack of any experience in video games but, the script changed her mind which she compared to Inglourious Basterds.
However, being a German herself, she was obviously conflicted by playing someone which is painful for any German. The relationship between the antagonist and the protagonist is described as love/hate relationship by the game director.
In related news, Machine Games has revealed that players can carry over their choices from The New Order and has also explained how. According to creative director Jens Matthies, players’ choices for Wolfenstein: The New Order will be carried over to the upcoming Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.
He added that these choices will not be transferred through save files but, players will confirm their choices in the sequel’s prologue.
Furthermore, Jens Matthies has also revealed that Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will not be the last entry in the rebooted franchise and also hinted that Mecha-Hitler might return in the next game.
Furthermore, Dark Horse will publish an art book for the upcoming sequel. The publisher has promised that the upcoming art book will be “overflowing with concept art, production material, and exclusive commentary from the creators of the newest entry in the epochal franchise.”
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is a first-person action shooter in development at Machine Games and is scheduled to launch on October 27, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
