New The Evil Within 2 Gameplay Trailer Shows the Connected Past and the Future

The Evil Within 2 has a new trailer and its all about the massiveness of the title. In the new The Evil Within 2 Gameplay Trailer, ‘Race Against Time’, we see for the first time how much depth The Evil Within 2 has compared to its predecessor.

The Evil Within had a very solid but solitary atmosphere which seems to be lacking from the new title. In the trailer we can see big groups of monsters, enemies in the street and much more action than we expected given the nature of the first game. Its atmosphere is much more sinister and that’s something we did not expect. Shinji Mikami will not be back for the sequel, making John Johanas the new director of the game, giving doubts to the fans to believe that the feeling will be the same. As it seems though the game will be even more massive and action based than it’s previous one.

As the video indicates, we see flashes of Sebastian’s memories in the world of STEM with the highlights being the church scene with the weird cult leader and the huge road collapsing infront of the protagonist. That reminds us a bit of Silent Hill, though The Evil Within 2 is more influenced by the Resident Evil series since Shinji Mikami was involved.

The description of the video reads:

Time is not on your side in The Evil Within 2. As Sebastian Castellanos, you will face unimaginable terrors as you fight to find your daughter within the nightmare of STEM and get her out safely before the entire system crumbles around you. On top of the hideous creatures that roam the streets, you’ll also have to contend with the likes of Stefano and Theodore – twisted individuals who have made their horrific homes inside of STEM and are warping the weakened world to suit their wills. Should the world be completely destroyed, there won’t be any escape for Sebastian or Lily.

You can also see the previous released New The Evil Within 2 Gameplay Trailer named ‘The Gruesome, Giggling Guardian’ which is featuring one of the game’s bosses in the early game.

The Evil Within 2 will be releasing on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 13.
