The Star Wars Battlefront 2 Beta Will Let You Into All Three Movie Eras

The Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta will allow players to play in all three movie eras in three different maps, starting in early October.

As the release date for Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets closer and closer, the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta is getting closer as well. And it’s apparently going to be a great beta, too, allowing you to access all three movie eras, rather than limiting you to one like the first game.

While the original Battlefront (or rather, the first Battlefront remake) did allow you to play in the original trilogy era, that was the only era you could play in to the anger of many Star Wars fans. However, DICE and EA have finally heard people’s complaints, and we’ll be able to play across all three eras in both the beta and the full game.

This is only one part of an enormous leak that has allowed us to gain insight into what all will be in the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta. Along with the three maps the beta will have (Theed, a space map over Fondor, and a battle on Takodana from The Force Awakens), and a Skirmish mode, players will also have a good selection of heroes to choose from.

These include Rey from the sequel trilogy, Darth Maul from the prequels, and Han Solo and Boba Fett from the original trilogy era. These are the same four heroes that were available when the game made its debut at E3 2017, so if you saw them there or played with them, you’ll likely be pretty familiar.

There are also a number of other, smaller details. The Theed map will have an LAAT gunship from Attack of the Clones circling the map similar to Scarif’s U-wing, providing an ever-changing respawn point.

The Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta will be available on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 6, and will run until October 9. If you’ve pre-ordered the game, you’ll be able to start playing it on October 4. The actual game will be releasing for the same platforms on November 17.
