Destiny 2 Altar of Flame Crucible Map Guide

Destiny 2 Altar of Flame Crucible Map Guide details everything that you need to know about the Altar of Flame Crucible Map in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Altar of Flame Crucible Map

Altar of Flame is located in the Caloris Basin of Mercury. It supports both Quick Play and Competitive Playlists. This map is focused on close combat while a few areas give some good sniping positions. We recommend that you bring short to mid-range weaponry for this map but if you still want to use long-range weaponry, a few areas will give you good sniping positions.

Avoid the map edges, as they are not closed. Open edges mean you can fall off the map to your death. Each area here is unique when it comes to architecture. Every area has a distinctive lightning, which you will see when you move from one area to another. Here the surroundings will greatly affect how you take out your targets. This map gives a player of every weapon an equal chance of killing.

Game Modes

This map supports both Quick Play and Competitive playlists. During Crucible, you will play Survival, Clash, and Control on this map. Each game mode will have their own unique variations in the map but the main map will remain the same so you should be familiar with the area in each map.

Key Locations

The Altar of Flame comprises of nine main locations, which are mentioned below:

Dunes
Large, high traffic area. It has multiple movement lanes and features the only true interior space. It also has multiple cover options and some open areas for combat. The room is also a team’s starting area.

Blocks
Blocks offer fairly good cover options. This is located in the middle of different sniping lanes so better be careful of all the dimly lit vantage points located around the area.

Candles
It is a small area and is perfect for close combat scenarios. This is also one of the most active areas as it has four entry points and Guardians use it as a flanking area.

Circuit
Circuit is a metal corridor and it has three entry points. Circuit is mostly used as a movement lane, however; it is also useful for some aggressive tactics.

Curve
Curve is the most dangerous area in the whole map. This area has a lot of cover options and a wide movement lane. You can exploit the movement lane from adjacent areas because the Guardians are totally exposed here. Curve wraps around the center of the map.

Gate
Gate is also a small location and it is located in the center of the map. It can be used as a good vantage point for some sniping as the Gate is surrounded by a wall.

Disc
Disc is a good flanking route but it is also located between two sniping lanes. Makes sure to keep your head down if you want to keep it on your shoulders while passing here.

Hall
Hall is also a flanking route and it has one of the best sniping locations of the map. There are also multiple escape routes.

Shrine
Shrine is located at the border of the map. It features a number of escape routes and it is a team’s starting area in most games. There are numerous cover opportunities here and some decent sniping locations as well.

Power Ammo Locations

  • During a game of Survival, the only Power Ammo spawn location will be Curve.
  • During Control, one of the two Power Ammo locations will be located in Dunes while the other one will be located in Blocks.
  • During Clash, one of the Power Ammo locations is Circuit, the second one spawns in Shrine while the last one spawns in Discs.

Capture Point Locations

During a game of Control, this map will feature three Capture Points. Capture Point A will be located at Candles; Capture Point B will be located at Gate, while Capture Point C will be located at Shrine.
