Now that Ark Survival Evolved has finally been officially released, it’s time to see just how it looks when you compare the Ark Survival Evolved graphics between the Playstation 4, and the Playstation 4 Pro. The differences are minor, but they’re there and still extremely noticeable, when you compare the three modes.
Ark Survival Evolved has been available on the Playstation 4 in Early Access for a good while now, ever since it was ported in December of last year. The game itself, having been in development ever since 2015, has won a lot of fans as part of the survival game craze (along with being one of the few survival games to actually come out of early access, rather than being stuck there for eternity.)
To begin with, we have the regular Playstation 4 version. That version looks good on the surface, and manages to maintain a pretty steady 30 frames per second, though it has a few dips here and there. Colors and details are there, and fairly vibrant, but less so than they would be in both of the Playstation 4 Pro options.
When it comes to the three different Ark Survival Evolved graphics, we have a regular Playstation 4 Pro option, and a high-detail Playstation 4 Pro option. The difference is mainly in the strain that the two modes put on the system as a whole. When you’re playing the Pro version the game runs at a fairly smooth 60 frames per second with a few dips. However, when you play on the high-detailed mode, the framerate tanks down back to 30. However, that is a smooth thirty, with almost no dips.
The high-detail mode for the Playstation 4 Pro, as you could probably guess, gives you the best details, even if the framerate isn’t very good.
So, if you’re willing to trade in framerates for sheer graphical quality, and you own a Playstation 4, you can see the results for yourself. You can also check out the video that compares the Ark Survival Evolved graphics between the three modes by looking above.
