The Gigabyte GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G has been revealed and it is the smallest GTX 1080 that we know of right now. Usually, we get small form factor GPUs from Zotac but this one is from Gigabyte instead. The Gigabyte GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G is only 16.9 CM long, the reference design model comes in at 26.7 CM. That is almost 10 CM off the reference model.
The Gigabyte GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G is described as tiny but mighty. If you like to have a PC that you can take over to LAN parties without any issues or you just like to have more room on your desk and prefer a small form factor PC then the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G is a great option to consider.
You only need a single 8-pin power connector to power this GPU and the dual slot GPU is ready for VR. Pair this with a decent CPU and you have a really small yet powerful gaming machine that you can hook up an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive to. Gigabyte’s custom cooling system has been used in order to keep the temperature in check and the GPU only has a single 90mm fan.
This GPU is about the same size as my Zotac GTX 1060 Mini but it is a GTX 1080 so you will get better performance and higher frame rates. In OC mode the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G runs at a base frequency of 1632 MHz and can boost to 1771 MHz.
If you are looking for a small yet powerful GPU then this is one option that is worth looking into. As of right now, there is no news regarding the price or the availability of this GPU but more information will be revealed with the passage of time.
