Dead Rising fans that have wanted the game to come to the Playstation 4 are in luck, as on December 5 you’ll be able to get Dead Rising 4 on Playstation 4, a full year after the game originally came out exclusively on the Xbox One and PC. The new version is called “Frank’s Big Package.”
Dead Rising 4 returns players to the place where it all began, the town of Willamette in Washington. The city is opening up a brand new mall in preparation for Black Friday, but, this being Dead Rising, something horrible goes wrong and turns all the thousands of people in the mall into zombies. Now, once again, using everything that the mall offers him (and some other stuff), Frank has to find out the truth by cutting, shooting, blasting, and running over every zombie in his way.
Dead Rising 4 on Playstation 4 will include all of the previously released content for the game, and will also include a brand new mode that players can use, called Capcom Heroes, a bonus mode that allows you to dress up as up to a dozen different Capcom characters, allowing you to use their moves. The mode will be coming to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game as well, once the Playstation 4 version comes out.
The first Dead Rising game didn’t get a Playstation 4 re-release until last year, but Dead Rising 2 did get a Playstation 3 version. Dead Rising 3 was also not given a Playstation 4 option, as it was a launch title for the Xbox One. Whether Dead Rising 3 will be the odd man out or be given a Playstation 4 port of its own remains to be seen.
Either way, Playstation 4 owners still have a good while to wait until they can play Dead Rising 4 on the Playstation 4. Hopefully, considering the game’s reception on Xbox One and PC, the waiting will be worth it.
