At IFA 2017, ACER announced its enthusiast gaming system the Orion 9000 as well as the Acer Predator X35 Curved gaming monitor. The 35-inch curved beast offers a ton of features and technical advantages over traditional dynamic range monitors.
Being an enthusiast level gaming monitor, Acer Predator X35 Curved provides an immersive 1800R curve with a WQHD resolution of 3440×1440 on a screen ratio of 21:9. The monitor also features NVIDIA G-Sync, Acer’s own HDR Ultra and quantum dot technology.
According to Acer’s press report, they are providing the best possible contrast quality with HDR. Advanced LED local dimming in 512 individually-controlled zones shines light only when and where it is required. w/1000 nits brightness, It also delivers a broader, more deeply saturated color gamut covering 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color standard, and a luminance range several times greater than that of traditional dynamic range monitors.
Acer Predator X35 Curved monitor ‘s refresh rate is 200 Hz and The fast 4 ms response time paired with Nvidia G-Sync enables butter smooth, lag-free, prompt gaming experience. There are eight pre-set display modes to optimize visuals depending on the scene. In addition to Standard, ECO, Graphic or Movie setting, there are three special game modes: Action, Racing, Sports. There’s a custom profiling option to configure a particular setting to a specific game.
Acer Predator X35 Curved monitor uses BlueLightShield technology, that enables wider viewing angles up to 178 degrees, both horizontally and vertically. In addition, Dark Boost technology allows fine details to be seen in dimly lit environments.
The monitor will not be available before Q1 2018 and Acer hasn’t confirmed the prices. Although prediction tells us that since Acer’s X34 still retails for $1299 with no HDR, it is safe to assume that X35 will be priced above $1000 once it arrives next year.
