The best addition comes with XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen has to be the ability to create bonds between soldiers. With this, soldiers bonding can make them BFFs that gives you an advantage and benefits on the battlefield. So in this XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen Soldiers Bonding Guide we will list the best possible ways to create bonds between soldiers.

Soldiers Bonding – How It Works

Soldier bonding in XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen is not that difficult of a task if you know what you are doing in the first place. Every soldier has a compatibility level for every other soldier, the higher the compatibility the higher the chance that soldiers will bond with each other.

If the compatibility is low then fear not as there are incidents that can take place during mid-mission and can increase compatibility among the soldiers. If a soldier rescues his unconscious squadmates this will increase the compatibility. If more than half of the squad is lost this will also increase the bonding compatibility among the survived soldiers.

When two soldiers are closer or ready to bond you will notice that they will do some activities together on the Avenger like having drinks, practicing at the firing range and more.

Also, you will have to be careful with whom you bond with whom as two soldiers bonded with one another cannot bond with another soldier unless one of the bondmates dies. Also, if the bondmate dies then the surviving soldier will lose him/herself to berserker rage and suffer penalties but, they will recover eventually and will be ready to bond again.

Benefits Of Soldier Bonding

Aside from the fact that you can customize your in-game experience, there are some benefits that you can avail by sending the bonded soldiers on missions.

If you send bonded soldiers with “Soldier Bond Level I” then the soldier will be granted “Teamwork” an additional action point. If they are at “Soldier Bond Level II” than the “Spotter” grants a bonus to aim when their bondmate has attacked or been attacked by the soldier’s target and if the bondmate is adjacent then an extra bonus is granted.

The second benefit is “Stand By Me” which lets soldier end a move adjacent to their bondmate and other soldiers are cleansed of the negative mental effect. The third benefit is “Covert Operators” who if deployed on a Covert Action together the duration of the mission is reduced by one day.

In they are at “Soldier Bind Level III” then “Advanced Teamwork” grants an additional Advanced Teamwork and “Dual Strike” which is a combined standard shot attack by the soldier and their bondmate.

That is all for our XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen Soldiers Bonding Guide which details the best ways to bond soldiers and the benefits of bonding!
