DreamHack Will Host Two More Quake Champions Tournaments This Year

Quake Champions entered early access on Steam just a couple of days ago but that does not mean it is too young to pursue the esports dreams. It is already on schedule to conclude the Quake World Championship finals over the weekend at QuakeCon, a yearly convention held by parent company ZeniMax Media to celebrate its major franchises. However, the competitive journey of Quake Champions will not stop just there.

Posting on its official blog this week, Bethesda Softworks announced two additional tournaments for the fast-paced first-person shooter that will take place before the end of the year.

DreamHack Denver Quake Championship (October 20-22)
Bethesda will host a $75,000 championship in Denver with competitors facing off in both the ultimate test of individual skill, Quake Champions’ Duel mode, as well as the intense, 4v4 team-based Sacrifice mode. Qualifiers for the DreamHack Denver Quake Championship will begin in September.

DreamHack Winter Quake Champions Invitational (December 1-4)
The best of the best will come together for the first Quake Champions Invitational to be held at DreamHack Winter in Sweden. The most elite professional players from around the world will compete for a prize pool of $350,000 in both Duel and Sacrifice modes.

Both tournaments will have reserved slots for a select list of the best professional players in Quake Champions, alongside participants through open qualifiers. More details regarding the sign ups will be shared in the coming weeks.

The publisher also confirmed that Quake Champions will be receiving more esports events next year. It is, after all, the latest installment in a franchise that helped set the roots for professional gaming around two decades ago. Bethesda Softworks is well aware of that and has pledged support for the game for many years to come.

Quake Champions is currently priced at $30, which is cheaper than what the paid version of the game will officially release for in the future. Those who buy into the early access right now will get hold of The Champions Pack, which features all current eleven champions as well as six more that will be added next year.
