Monster Hunter XX finally launched in Japan today on Nintendo Switch and to commemorate this launch, Capcom released a new trailer for the game which showcases a collaboration between this HD port of their popular monster hunter game and Breath of the Wild.
As part of this Breath of the Wild DLC, players will be able to dress themselves up as Link in Monster Hunter XX. This isn’t the first time Capcom has done this as back in March, they did the exact same thing and provided players the outfit for Link on the Nintendo 3DS version of Monster Hunter XX.
After a beta earlier this month, Monster Hunter XX finally launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch today in Japan. There is currently no word on whether a western release is planned or not but hopefully Capcom doesn’t let its western audience hanging. Those who can’t wait can always purchase the Japanese version of the game provided they can navigate the menus and Japanese text.
Monster Hunter XX isn’t the only Monster Hunter game that Capcom had been developing all this time as the studio is also working on Monster Hunter World, an open world co-op adventure that will not be available on handhelds.
Monster Hunter World doesn’t have a fixed release date yet but Capcom has been releasing a lot of gameplay footage and information regarding the game in these past few weeks and this information flow has increased during Gamescom. Just yesterday, they revealed that all the DLC for Monster Hunter World will be available for free.
Monster Hunter World itself is expected to launch sometime in 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and will be available in western markets as well. Because of the scale of the game, including AI and dynamic world, the game was impossible to create for handhelds but will take full use of current generation consoles.
