Ubisoft’s newest adittion to the Assasins Creed universe will feature a brand new trip to ancient Egypt around 49BCE, the biggest world the franchise has seen. Assassin’s Creed Origins is known to have the biggest map on the series and apart from that will have much more density to it’s environment than we are used to. During it’s latest UbiBlog on Youtube, Ubisoft shared some more information about the gameplay and the era that the game is set in.
The two main cities of the game, Alexandria and Memphis will have their own aesthetics with the first being more elegant with Greek architecture and broad road and the latter will be more crowded and plain is we sould expect from a city in the desert. The architecture of those cities are based upon research the developer team made on Egypt history so that they would be portrayed as close to how it would be in the past as possible.
The vastness of the game’s environment contributes to how your gameplay will uncover. You will have to explore hours and hours according to the developers and you can always find something cool to experiment on. Hunting animals, finding secret passages and random battling with bandits will be only few of the things you will be able to do while exploring the cities and wilderness.
As you would expect from a videogame based on Egypt there will be crypts and tombs to explore with puzzles created by your ancestors. The era of the game is set during the reign of Cleopatra so you will see a lot of historically accurate events.
Assasin’s Creed creators prefer eras with great conflict and political instability and that’s something we will see in Assassin’s Creed Origins too. You will be able to unravel the whole plot between Cleopatras and Ptolemy’s family as you explore through the game and find the reasons behind Egypt’s civil war. Onwards we will meet other historical figures such as Caesar.
Assasin’s Creed Origins is coming October 27th on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
