In a surprise move for Nintendo, the company has revealed that the upcoming crossover game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will have a season pass which is a first for any Mario related game. However, it does make sense considering the game is made by Ubisoft who happens to have a season pass for pretty much every game they release.
The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle season pass will go on sale alongside the game on 29th August and can be purchased for $20. Those who decide to shell out the extra cash will get access to all the DLC for the game including eight steampunk weapons which will be exclusive to season pass owners. Alongside the DLCs, the season pass will also grant access to new solo and co-op challenges that will release in Fall.
To make the price of the Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle season pass really worth it, in 2018 there will also be some “unexpected” story content that will be available for free to season pass owners. What this story content will be is unclear at this point.
Ubisoft recently released a new trailer for the game highlighting Rabbid Luigi, the timidest member of the gang who also happens to have some really strong powers.
His defensive and elemental skills should prove highly useful in all sorts of combat situations in this turn based universe cross-over game where Rabbids suddenly find themselves in Mario’s world and must work together with the plumber and his friends to stop evil rabbids from destroying the worlds.
The game will be releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch on 29th August with a download size of around 2.3GB. Those interested can place their pre-orders right now and gain access to Exclusive Pixel Pack while fans who buy the collector’s edition get the Rabbid Mario figurine.
