Microsoft might not have been dominating the console market this generation with Xbox One but, according to Microsoft, they have the biggest exclusives and that is why gamers buy their console. The statement is quite contradicting especially when PS4 is winning the battle of exclusives.
Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg explained during Gamescom 2017 that why gamers buy Xbox One. According to Greenberg, the reason why gamers choose Xbox One is that Xbox has the biggest exclusives and franchises like Halo, Gears of War, and Forza.
He added that he is quite excited for the Holiday season as Xbox will be the only platform on which he can play Forza Motorsports 7, Cuphead, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. He added that it doesn’t end here as in Spring 2018, Xbox will see the release of Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3. He concluded that every game will look and run better on the Xbox One X.
Speaking of Xbox One X, Microsoft has revealed the list of games that will be enhanced for the upcoming console and it also includes Rise Of The Tomb Raider. According to Square Enix, Rise Of The Tomb Raider will run at 4K resolution and will feature smooth frame rate along with HDR, Dolby Atmos for true 3D audio.
Other enhancements include improved volumetric lighting, improved reflections, enhanced foliage, upgraded polygonal detail, and amplified texture filtering.
Also, Forza Motorsports 7 will feature graphical improvement exclusive to the upcoming console. According to Creative Director Bill Giese, dynamic cube mapping is a graphical improvement exclusive to Xbox One X and describes that it will help “better seat the cars in the world”. The technique uses six different 2-D images/textures for each side of the cube map instead of just one.
Xbox One X will launch on November 7, 2017, and will be priced at $499 in the US.
