Capcom has released a new gameplay trailer for its highly-anticipated hunting game, Monster Hunter World, releasing on PC and consoles next year. The new Monster Hunter World gives us a detailed look at one of the accessible locations in the game, Wildspire Waste.
The Monster Hunter World trailer description reads:
Venture into uncharted territory and blistering heat in Wildspire Waste in Monster Hunter: World. Gear up with your fellow hunters to take down the fearsome creatures that have claimed this territory as their own. These beasts won’t slay themselves…
With each new reveal of the game, Capcom is raising the hype bar considerably compared to previous Monster Hunter games which is saying a lot since the old titles in the franchise have been pretty popular and successful games.
Last month, Capcom released another gameplay trailer which gave us an in-depth look at some of the monsters we will be facing in Monster Hunter World, including the reptilian Great Jagras. The trailer also showcased a new monster seen in the franchise for the first time, the Anjanth.
While traditionally Monster Hunter games have been on handhelds, Capcom decided to bring Monster Hunter World to home consoles and PC while completely skipping out on handhelds due to the open-world co-op game design and complex AI.
According to game producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, the dynamic nature of the weather, world and realistic AI just wouldn’t have been possible on handheld consoles, not even Nintendo Switch.
Capcom also showcased the numerous weapon types available to players in Monster Hunter World and how each weapon changes the gameplay and how players approach each situation. Players can also craft their own weapons and armor to give them an edge in fights.
Monster Hunter World is currently scheduled for a 2018 release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
