Intel’s Coffee Lake Performance Leaked – 11% Faster Than 7700K

The complete specifications of the Coffee Lake processors have been leaked including the Core i7 8700K. Intel’s upcoming CPU lineup was revealed somewhere in China. The key details were performance improvements in single and multi-threaded applications.

The 8th generation Coffee Lake processors will support Z370 LGA 1151 sockets and will not work with the Z270 ones from Sky Lake and Kaby Lake generations. This means people willing to upgrade to the 8th generation will also have to sell off their previous motherboards along with the old processors and buy the new CPU + Motherboard combo.

According to the leaked image, the 8th generation Intel lineup has extra cores and faster performance. Specifically, the Coffee Lake Core i7-8700K performs 11% better than 7700K in single-threaded applications and 51% better in multi-threaded applications. Bear in mind that 7700K is one of the most popular processors among the crowd for games and professional work.

These performance scores on the Coffee Lake prove intriguing. Considering the two extra cores will come real handy in managing all sorts of multi-thread operations. Similarly, the Corei7 8600K does 19% better on single and 55% better on multi-threaded scores, while 8350K gets 17% better on single and 65% better on multi-threaded scores.

From the Coffee Lake lineup, Core i7 series gets 6 cores 12 threads instead of 4 cores and 8 threads, Core i5 series get 6 cores and 6 threads, Core i3 series gets 4 cores and 4 threads. The 8600K is gamer-aimed Hexa-core CPU with overclocking and 4.4GHz Boost. There’s a non-K version for 8700 as well. The specifications are nearly the same but there’s no overclocking.
