Hearthstone’s New Fireside Brawl Goes Against the Lich King
The Hearthstone community has a couple of reasons why it should be looking forward to Blizzard taking stage at Gamescom 2017 next week.
Earlier today, the company officially announced its schedule of events for one of the largest gaming conventions in the world. New Fireside Gathering features will be revealed by the developer during the proceedings. This includes a Fireside Brawl, where players will join forces to go up against the Lich King.
Fireside Brawls are special versions of the traditional Tavern Brawls that are designed to be played together by friends in public gathering spots. They are described by Blizzard as “unique and unforgettable” ways to play Hearthstone. The next iteration pays tribute to the recent release of Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion pack. However, we will have to wait another week to know how exactly these groups raids will work against the Lich King.
Gamescom 2017 will also host the finals of the Hearthstone Global Games. Like always, the community can head to the official website and show support for their favorite player. Doing so nets a free card pack, with an additional card pack every time the chosen player advances in the tournament.
It has been just over a week since the new expansion pack was released. The theme explores an alternative branch in the lore where Arthas, the Lich King, managed to defeat the heroes of Warcraft at Icecrown Citadel. Using the cursed powers of Frostmourne, our beloved heroes have arisen from the dead as Death Knights to serve the will of the Scourge lord.
Gamescom 2017 begins on Tuesday, August 22 and ends on Saturday, August 26.
