Capcom has fulfilled their promise of fixing the character faces in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, or at least some characters. Back in June with the reveal of a new trailer for the game, the internet exploded after seeing how horrible the faces of a number of characters looked.
Game Director Mike Evans confirmed soon after that the company will look into fixing the faces although at that time, no promise could be made. Then late last month, Capcom finally confirmed that they will be fixing the visual quality of a number of characters including Chun-Li and Dante.
The latest story trailer for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite confirms that they developers did actually work on the facial quality of the characters and improved the quite a lot, unlike Mass Effect Andromeda. There are comparison shots of Chun-Li’s face before and after the fix and her design now looks much better. As for Dante, it seems he has also seen a bit of tweaking but the difference isn’t as apparent.
Given the game’s release date of 19th September, it seems like Capcom might continue to work on fixing the character design for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite to give players the best possible version of the game.
The game’s story trailer also shed more light on the full character roster available in the game at launch as it revealed the last four characters players will be able to choose from. While none of these characters are exactly new reveals, it is nice to see them being “officially” revealed instead of fans having to rely on teasers and third party sources.
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is currently scheduled for a 19th September release on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game will include notable characters from both universes including Chris Redfield, Chun-Li, Dormammu, Iron Man and more. Besides having a story mode and versus multiplayer, Capcom also hopes to have a strong eSports future for the game.
