Street Fighter V Celebrates 30th Anniversary With New Costumes

The month of August marks three whole decades since the first installment in the iconic fighting franchise was released. Street Fighter V is being prepped to celebrate the momentous occasion with a new set of costumes that will coincide with the anniversary date.

An announcement made on the official website reveals that an update will be released on August 29 to add a new outfit for M. Bison, Guile, Ibuki, and Karin. Each of them will be available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and Steam for $3.99/€3.99.

Capcom has been on a roll when it comes to releasing new costumes for Street Fighter V. It was only last month when the game saw new sporty outfits for Rashid, Laura, and Ibuki. In addition to that lineup, the developer recently released nostalgic costumes for Juri, Ibuki, and Alex.

Many were hoping that the 30th Anniversary of the franchise would see the developer talking about a new playable character for the roster. Just a couple of weeks back, the hulking brute Abigail was added to Street Fighter V from the Final Fight series. Before him was the inclusion of Ed in May.

Street Fighter V will be a major attraction at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2017) next month. A special competitive event was recently announced that invites eight of the best players from around the world for a chance at grabbing ¥1.5 million in prize money.
