The beta for the next PlayStation 4 system software update 5.00 (code-named Nobunaga) will begin rolling out soon for select participants of the program.

According to the patch notes listed on the official website, the company is bringing in several new social features for the community. These are targeted at both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles.

Family on PlayStation Network
A new overhauled system will make it easier for parents to create and manage sub-accounts for children on the PlayStation 4. Multiple adults can be part of a single family, and any member can be promoted to a parent at any given time.

The parental control settings have been bettered and will be accessible by all parents in the family. As a new feature, all parental controls can be individually attuned for each child.

Friend List Management
The “Favorite Groups” tab is being replaced with a new “Custom Lists” tab that allows users to create and edit custom lists of their friends.

Broadcast
Users will be able to bind a community that they own to their broadcast. This will bring up a button for the community during the stream, allowing spectators to simply click and directly jump to the community page. In addition, PlayStation 4 Pro users will be able to stream on Twitch at 1080p and in 60 frames-per-second.

Messages Improvements
Friends on PlayStation 4 will be able to listen to any tracks sent through messages on the console from right inside the tab by booting up Quick Menu. Those on mobile devices can jump directly to the Spotify application to listen to the track.

Notifications Updates
Users will be able to disable pop-up notifications while watching a movie or television show on the PlayStation 4. The color of the pop-up can also be changed to either white or black.

Quick Menu Updates
If you want to keep an eye out on what’s happening under Notifications, like the progress of your game downloads/installations or new party invites, you can now access this directly from the Quick Menu so you don’t have to step away from your game every time you want to check your notifications.

Improved Tournaments Bracket Viewer
A new bracket viewer has been added that shows full tournament brackets for Single Elimination and Double Elimination tournaments on the console. This makes it easier for you to see the current tournament standings.
